I'm not interested in rubber or plastic watch straps as they irritate my wrist so I looked for a metal strap although the factory plastic strap wasn't too bad. I'm rather picky about these things so I was sure I wouldn't be entirely happy with this band given the low price. However, I had no intention of paying for a metal Fitbit, so I decided to give it a try. I was very pleasantly surprised to find that this is a fairly high quality band, a bit better than I expected. The finish is a solid black metallic, should be anodized or something - it's definitely not a color like I thought. I've been wearing it day and night for about 2 1/2 months now and the finish is finally showing some wear on some of the links near the buckle which are the most worn on my wrists on my laptop; but not as much as I expected. The only downside is that it gets a little tight if your wrist is a little larger than mine. Thought of looking for extra links or ordering a second belt disassembly but so far it fits well enough not to be a problem.
