Review on πŸ“· Neewer 6-Pack Heavy Duty Sandbag for Photo Studio Light Stands Boom Arms - Black (Empty Sandbag) with 6-Pack Muslin Backdrop Spring Clamps Clips by Sabrina Jones

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Excellent sandbags with regular clips.

I am more than happy with these bags. I bought a set of 8 bags and they came with 6 clips. The bags are well made. with double zippers and high-quality stitching. While waiting for the bags to arrive, I bought four bags of "play sand" at a large hardware store nearby. Using zip ties and freezer bags, I measured out sixteen 10 pound sandbags and taped them in place. When the bags arrived it was a bit difficult to load a 10 pound sandbag into each side of the sandbags. But with a little maneuvering in the sand, I became a pro (and more patient with myself and the process) by the third sandbag. I use one on each of my light stands, background stands, and camera stands in my home studio. The clips are sufficient to clamp the light object, for example to fix fabric backgrounds. But they are cheap plastic and not designed to hold a fully weighted sandbag. Eventually one of the orange tips broke off one of the clips when I was trying to use it to attach the bag to the stand. But he was easy to put back in place once I saw he didn't have enough strength to hold 20 pounds. I simply placed sandbags at the base of each stand and used extra brackets in the studio to hold the backdrops in place when needed. Overall I'm so happy with the quality of the sandbags themselves (this was the main reason I bought the set) that I'm giving this a 5 star rating. I would like a variant with a set of carabiners instead of clips. But in the end I found out that sandbags are used alone. And it's good to have extra clamps for studio use if needed.
