Our house was built in 1975. At that time there was NO ZONATION in our territory. So what you got was just as good as whoever built it. Ours was Frugile! We had a lightbulb under Crawl Space, it's a dark place nobody wants to be in but it has many of your IMPORTANT SERVICES! We had a plumbing accident, and while most of my house was gutted and renovated, I made an additional investment to install a retractable attic ladder. The alternative was a tiny hole in my main closet that gave me closterophobia just looking at it. We put in LED lights and placed them under and in the attic and the electrician put in a socket with a switch but on top. When they come in to service the HVAC or whatever is going on upstairs or downstairs, there's a lot of light to see and work on now. LOVE IT!
