Leason learned that. I received the phone a few weeks ago but waited until my daughter got home from college for Christmas before activating it. After activating it she was having trouble sending messages etc so she went to the Verizon store for help. She was told that the phone's serial number was blacklisted because it was lost or stolen. When we tried to reactivate her old phone, her number was blocked due to a stolen/lost phone scam. Last night she and my husband spent over two hours on the phone with Verizon trying to sort out this mess. Do not do that. It is not worth. Just buy a new cell phone.
