This is a great energy saving replacement for traditional GU10 halogen bulbs. They are significantly brighter with a much wider lighting angle, giving each fixture a little more light. We routinely dim ours down to 75% because they are so bright. Despite being listed as 2700k they look more like a bright white than a halogen alternative. At full brightness the difference is imperceptible, but at the lowest settings the halogens turn a warm orange while remaining the same soft white throughout. My lights have a frosted glass body so I spent a lot of time looking for an LED option that would throw some light to the side and illuminate the body. The glass body on them allows a small amount of light to ricochet off the sides, and in my lights the frosted glass glows slightly, but it's not at all like the original halogen bulbs that create a bright hotspot on the side. I don't think there is a GU10 LED that looks the same as halogens in a frosted light, but this is the best option I've found.
