I used a vent clip so no suction rating, but the vent clip holds up. I have an iPhone 12 pro max with a fairly large (thick) case. The size of the case just fits in the clamps. It's cozy, to say the least. The device charges my phone relatively quickly even through a thick case. Bonus - cool light show when you turn it on! Update: After a few weeks of use, the charger is stuck, and my wife's charger is falling apart. Side latches no longer open to the same size. The right side opens more than the left. Also (don't know what to call it) the plastic that sticks to the back of the phone during charging is completely detached from the device. The glue that holds it together fails. Every day we have to bring it together. We discuss the possibility of a return.
