I wasn't sure how well this brush would clean as the silicone bristles are so different from the typical nylon toilet brushes I've used in the past. But it did a really effective job. The detergent didn't seem to foam as much, but there was less splattering and the brush shook dry easily. Silicone bristles are much easier to keep clean than a traditional brush which tends to trap dirt in the bristles. The holder is very light and this is where the product lost a star. There is a water drip tray at the bottom which I had a hard time snapping and holding in place and kept falling off repeatedly and unexpectedly. I'm hoping I finally get the hang of it, although I'm happy to take it apart and dump the water out. In general, the base allows the brush to dry quickly because there is a vent for air circulation. That alone should go a long way toward making it at least more hygienic. The kit also included a hook for hanging the base, but I chose not to use it. For some needs, it may just be a ticket to fix the holder on the side of the vanity or on the wall next to the toilet.
