Update: I downgraded to 1 star for good reason. My car broke down just days after the 1 year warranty expired. I asked Krups for help and got no response. I have a $750 plastic and metal block on my counter that does nothing. I took care of this article. I cleaned it and descaled it if requested. I used the types of beans they suggested. I really took care of this thing. After it (the mill) broke my wife and I did some research. Apparently this is a fairly common error on this machine. I understand that technically I have no guarantee. I'd be a little disappointed if Krups didn't give me a break. But he doesn't even answer? are you just ignoring me It tells me they just don't care. ************************************************* * ************************************************** *** ***** ************* My previous review when the thing worked. ***************************************************** ************************ ********* ***************** ******************** I've owned this for several months and am still having very good luck with it. I got pretty good at making delicious lattes and cappuccinos, not to mention long coffees. The machine is a little noisy, but not critical. It's quite compact. It fits under my cupboards but holds enough beans for a few days of use. Krups could do a little better with the descaling instructions, but I stumbled across this on the internet. Another lesson I learned is to clean the milk frother (at least the top part) every time I use it and make sure it's securely attached to the steam head and save it just in case. You can make a very bad mess if you don't. I would also say that when I first got it it made quite a mess on my counter with the first cup of coffee. I don't know if he blew out the cobwebs (he had already flushed) but he basically filled the coffee grounds tray with liquid which then spilled over my counter. I almost sent it back then. However, I cleaned and made another cup and haven't had an issue since, so I'll consider it an unboxing issue. Check out the good price for it.
