Review on G Technology 0G05218 Atomos Master Caddy by Trey Ali

Please note this is a regular 2.5" hard drive and not an SSD as recommended for use with an Atomos Ninja recorder. At around 135MB/s, this is good enough for ProRes 422HD at 4K30p, but too slow for reliable 60p or ProRes HQ recording. That's more than enough for 1080p60. Please consider your needs before purchasing this disc. I replaced the HD with a Samsung 860 EVO SSD and installed the original drive in an inexpensive Atomos plastic case. I can always use another 1TB drive, but just an SSD will do for video. attached a strip of grip tape (used on plastic pistol frames) that provides enough grip for you to push it out with your thumb. The Ninja V isn't a problem as the drive protrudes 1/2 inch from the bezel.
