Actual dimensions before use: 21 x 13 x 6, smaller than described. 25" handle. This bag is constructed quite well. The canvas is one large piece with no seams at the bottom. In addition, the colored floor reinforces the tarpaulin. I can lift 25 pounds in a bag, but I wouldn't recommend carrying more than 20 pounds in it for long periods of time. The colored stripes do not run along the bottom like in the bag of a $40 bag so they don't reinforce the bottom of the bag. The zippered portion is a 7 x 7" pocket on the inside of the bag. This could make a reasonable tote bag or boat bag. I've even had poor washing results with a $40 bag so I won't be washing that.
