a year later. it broke. I used to have a basic Philips Satinelle that worked great for 12 years! I've used it to remove hair all over my body (legs, armpits, FULL bikini, etc.). I've never had any problems or ingrown hairs, but I thought maybe after all these years I should get something new. I bought this Emjoi based on the great reviews and Gold Plated feature. First, the shape of the head of the tweezers is very inconvenient and makes epilation very inefficient. Second, it led to a lot of ingrown hairs, especially in the bikini area. Third, the performance is weak, and after a year of use once a month, it stops working. I also have to say that I had to supplement my epilation session with wax as this epilator just didn't work. If you are looking for a good epilator, I advise you to go for the basic model from Philips or Braun - you can't go wrong. This junk is a waste of money.
