Review on Corsair Vengeance RGB Pro 32GB (4X8GB) DDR4 3200MHz C16 LED Desktop Memory - Black by Edgar Clark

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Quality RAM, works with my B450 motherboard!

When I was originally looking for RAM I wanted to use an earlier version of this RAM as it was MSI's QVL. I'm so glad I took a chance and listened to the reviews of these sticks that run on AMD boards and bought them for my first build. The LEDs are amazing and look fantastic. To be honest I left them with the default color effect and I didn't even think I would like this effect the most! It perfectly complements my white Cryorig H7 fan as it reflects its colors. First I encountered a problem. I tried to overclock it to the A-XMP speed my MSI B450 Tomahawk motherboard allows (2933 for 3000MHz sticks). For some reason I had problems when it didn't work at rated speeds. I went to Corsair Reddit and wrote a post about it. I got feedback from one of the mods to try swapping the RAM and using them individually. At first I thought I had a dead stick because the system wasn't posting. I later installed the flash drive back into the motherboard because I wanted to keep the colors. Turns out all I had to do was swap the RAM to a different slot, which was weird. I'm not sure if it was a RAM or motherboard issue. The main thing is that it works now. He realized I had 16GB to use and install and I could enable A-XMP and he immediately posted with that overclock. Works great. Another note: at the time of writing this review, I had no issues with the MSI Mystic Light running Corsair's iCue software. I use iCue to run lighting effects in RAM and Mystic Light for my motherboard and front RGB fans.

Pros
  • Compatible with Intel and AMD DDR4 motherboards.
Cons
  • There are other interesting options.
