The A/C cover on my 1992 van with (Duo-Therm Brisk Air model 57915.404) tore in four places when I removed it to paint the roof. it was very fragile. I was surprised to see that there are still replacements out there, albeit quite expensive, but I'm glad I can still buy one. The cover fitted my old unit snugly, the open coil condenser model, so this full cover offers a bit more protection in that regard, but I had to cut the sheet metal into "cover plates" as instructed. My unit has a gray stripe on the base, it's a little confusing that the instructions for the new unit say the stripe is to be fitted with the slots down while my old unit was riveted with the slots up. Looking at it, I realized it wasn't. Regardless, the holes match up in every position, and the slots on the bottom give you a way to line up the screw holes with the base unit, which is probably why they're on the turned their heads. The only downside is that when I started installing the included rivets to attach the gray strip, they came off the rivet head in the wrong place and were sticking out 3/4" of the rivet shank, even with a different rivet gun, ie I had to cut and file some shafts which I put in and bought new rivets to complete the job along with a rivet gun which I don't really need.Other than that the instructions were well thought out and saved me a lot of guesswork in the Compared to some things I've bought lately.
