Review on Qodem by Michael Tegan

Revainrating 5 out of 5

TightVNC is great solution where VDI wouldn’t work

I liked that it was easy to use, with simple commands like "cw" (send character), as well as being able to send files over USB or Ethernet connections in any OS from Windows 7 up - even MacOS! It's also very configurable so you can set your modem speed/bandwidth etc if needed. The downside for me has been some bugs which have slowed down my workflow at times; especially when sending large amounts data via telnet connection using command line interface. If anyone wants an extremely reliable tool but don't need all those fanciful features then this might be ideal however its not cheap either ($40USD per license). We've used multiple tools across many different platforms including Linux and Android devices while working remotely without having access to our office network infrastructure directly connected through VPNs into each other.

Pros
  • Highly functional remote terminal emulator allowing full control.
  • Fits easily within mobile device environments such iOS &/or android
  • Can connect anywhere regardless how complex networks may look
Cons
  • Not bad
