cutter works as described. It is up to you whether you insert the SIM card correctly; You must insert it fully and the beveled corners on the cut hole and the card must match. Once you're sure the card is seated correctly, don't be afraid to put a lot of pressure on the lever. To cut the SIM card, I laid the Noosy on the ground and stepped on it with all my weight. If you are shy about this, you may cut the card incorrectly. This then helps smooth the edges with an Xacto knife. I suppose scissors would work too. I haven't tried SIM card adapters because I heard they aren't very good. Instead I kept the rest of the card after cutting and used it as an adapter. Again, it will be easier if you smooth the edges.
