I really sat on the fence! I thought of Rode, but after careful YouTube reviews, I honestly couldn't say there wasn't a noticeable difference in sound quality. This is an example of why pay more for the same quality? Brands are not always better! I learned that with action cameras. The GoPro is a very expensive little toy that can easily match or beat in quality models half the price! I think that's the case with FiFine and Rode. But beware of unnamed brands! Do your research like me! There are mics even cheaper than this one, but you won't find as many rave reviews about it as you will about this one. The reviewer may have poor hearing, not know what to expect, or even have a personal preference for two products that are very similar in quality. Finally arrived at the bin where I put the FiFine a few weeks ago. There was a price increase. Don't want the items in your shopping cart to be protected from price increases? But it was a significant increase and even at $15 it was the best buy in my opinion. I'm glad I got the kit with the arrow! I make it even better. I love it and the mic. Not a drop of regret buyers! The only downside I had was that the USB connector on the back of the mic is a bit loose which causes the audio to drop out. Well that's a small issue I can fix, but it's a scam. Anyway, I've never been a fan of USB microphones. XLR for all cases! They are even better today. Good luck finding a decent new one in this price range. But again, very little matters in the larger scheme of getting the best possible quality at a reasonable price. I uploaded a video I made with this mic and my Canon M50 which I love too! If you have money to throw away so you can have a big name on the mic, get a Rode. If you don't care about the name on the mic and the quality is just as good and you also want to save money, get the fifine!
