Overall a good camera. I was initially unhappy with it due to the lack of a lens cap, which costs $50 and is unavailable. Finally we bought another adapter and 2 lens caps for about $17 - JJC filter adapter, lens adapter ring, mounting ring, 40.5mm filter and 2 packs of JJC 40.5mm lens front caps with holder deluxe caps - they're not that good because they're good at dealing with the hanging lens cap, but they work well. Sooner or later the lens without a cap will be scratched. The default settings take very low quality photos, but once you figure out how to set them to the highest quality, the photos turn out pretty good. The manual that you have to download is not very clear about the different options. It would be better if it comes with an extra battery and external charger and a carrying case. I am very satisfied with the functions of the microscope. It seems to me that the microscopic auto-stacking capabilities are better than the DSL's dedicated macro lens. Sometimes you get extra antennae or legs, but I'm amazed at how easy it is to take good photos of very small objects, even tiny insects that don't stand still. very fast. It is very helpful to read the manual as there are many "high-tech" features that are very useful and can save you a lot of time. The lack of more zoom is frustrating, but not as bad as I expected. Battery life is excellent and the GPS works well, although it's a bit slow to connect at first. I would give 4-5 stars if the lens cap wasn't such an issue and for $450 there should be a carrying case and extra battery with charger.
