I have several hand-painted porcelain plates that I hang on my kitchen wall. I needed another record holder/hanger so I got this one. The plate is 10-1/4 inches in diameter. This hanger is said to work up to 10 inches so I figured it would be fine and it is. The spring is really strong when stretched that far. Make sure the panel is well supported while attempting to attach the hanger as both hands must be completely free to manipulate the tensioned hooks while holding the panel. I'm glad the hooks that stick out over the edge of the platter have a protective coating. The included wall hook seems pretty solid, more than enough to hold a 10 inch record. An asterisk is not listed as usually a single wire is bent on the back to make it easier to attach to a wall hook, but this holder doesn't have that. Both wires sit very close to the back of the board. I could bend the wire where I wanted, but I was very careful and uncomfortable with so much stress on the plate while trying to bend the wire at the same time. If your plate is fragile, make sure to bend the wire before attaching it to the wall.
