Good news - it costs $5. The bad news is MY $5 and this thing is a cheap piece of crap that won't fit standard tripods that are advertised as universal. The plastic is thin and it seems that it tears easily, but this is not a minus. It's falsely advertised as an all-purpose board, which just isn't the case. I have about 7 of these plates from different manufacturers and almost all of them fit all other tripods but not this one. It is too big on all four sides to fit in the trunk. How to repair? I'll get a cheap "little washcloth" shave off with a belt sander, trimming about 1/16-1/8 inch from each edge. I think this should allow it to fit my very common and very standard tripod. Its bad design. Instead of leaving the inserts square and sharp on the edges they set in, they left a small vertical wall about 1/8" high (see photo) - this wall needs to be removed.
