Good price for a basic leash

Bought these to teach my Golden Retriever puppy how to fetch a tennis ball. When I last had formal training in the 1990's, the instructor recommended a 50 line, not a retractable line. The reason for this is that you usually want to teach your dog not to pull on the leash, so keep it loose and when the dog gets to the end of it, correct it. In this way, the dog associates the taut leash with the correction and learns not to pull on the leash. With a retractable leash, the leash is always taut, and worse, the dog learns to pull the leash to go where he wants to go. This will make your dog pull harder, which is exactly the opposite of what you want. I'm working on getting the dog interested in the ball, but he's still a puppy and gets distracted by everything. So when I hit the ball, he runs after it, picks it up, then throws it and starts sniffing and chewing. At this point I wrap it around the leash and try again. I tried letting the puppy play with my older dog on this leash. That's a bad idea because they all get tangled up in a mess that's hard to sort through. I haven't really tested this for wear and tear, but I'm only using it for a limited time and don't need high quality wire. . I just have to get the dog out of the distraction and on the hunt, which usually takes a few months. I think it will last long enough.
