As stated in the product description, this remote control is for use with the Ryze Tello drone only. This enormously expands the possible uses of the drone. I was concerned about latency when using the remote control, but to my surprise the drone responds to the remote control almost instantly (the same speed as if you were using the display on your phone or tablet). However, I have found that when flying a drone, iOS devices seem to be more responsive than Android devices. It's not a huge difference, but it's worth noting. The remote control feels good in the hand. Very similar to the feel of a PlayStation remote. The phone holder slides out and hides perfectly in the remote control. This allows for a wide range of phone sizes, but I find it works best with smaller phones as larger ones tend to throw off weight balance. . I suspect it has something to do with the controller's Bluetooth frequency matching the drones' Wi-Fi frequency. This can be remedied by using a portable Wi-Fi range extender. Connecting the remote control to the phone is done through the Tello application. Don't try to connect it any other way. Just turn on the remote, open the app on your phone, go to the settings menu and select the controller. It is so easy.
