Review on Perfecto Aquarium Glass Replacement Hinge by Josue Porter

Thank you to the reviewers for your warnings about the difficulty of fitting glass into this hinge. Having no other choice, I decided to buy it. And despite all my reservations, I decided to carefully try to fit my glass countertops into this hinge. First I had to make sure I marked it to cut to the correct length that would fit the rim of my 10 gallon tank. Then remove the old loop brewed with mineral deposits. My saving grace was WD-40 and a drywall trowel. Then there was the dreadful task of fitting the glass lid into the clamps, which were firmly clamped by the new hinge, without breaking the glass or cutting your hands. First I made sure that the hinge for the glass lid opened properly with a handle. I took my rubber work gloves, sprayed some WD-40 on the top of the hinge and SLOWLY inserted the tip of the glass into the hinge. Passed a third of the way easily, then got stuck like a pig. I placed the bottom on a non-slip surface, such as a doormat, then gently pressed the top with my gloved hands and prayed. LOL It slowly slid into place with a few clicks. I even put the broken corner into the hinge so there isn't a dangerous cut edge. I accidentally hit it, so originally it was sealed with tape. Phew, success. The same, even more slowly, with the other half. Once complete it was even better than the original hinge. i am so satisfied
