I had another bike seat that looked more like a traditional cushion and seemed to work well. But over time it began to fade and deteriorate. So I found this one that was a little different. Instead of fabric, it's made of a different material and actually comes vacuum packed and completely flat! This is how it works: With the supplied hand pump, you press air into the seat cushion. You can pump as much air as you like (don't overdo it of course!), but this allows you to customize the seat cushion depending on how much air you want in it. I was able to easily inflate the cushion and attach it to my existing bike seat. One thing I don't know yet is if it can bleed out if over inflated.
