This tuner works very well! I tried the WIN-HD TV app once, but I have a PLEX server, so I use that. I can't comment on the convenience of the remote control as I've never touched it. I was originally trying to get a quad core PCI Express Hauppauge HD card for my home theater PC (HTPC), but they're hard to find these days and have been on hold with no idea when they'll be back will be available. So I bought this, thinking it would "hold" me until one was in stock. Um, that fits the picture! I've finished configuring and will no longer receive a PCI-e card from now on. The signal quality is excellent, the resolution better than my cable provider. I hooked it up to a $40 RCA antenna in my attic with a Winegard Boost XT preamp ($42.55) and was done. In fact, in less than a month of cable TV, I now have an HD TV for life!
