A few years ago I bought a 1157 switch set for my car. About a month ago the amber element stopped working (i.e. the white went out and nothing happened) and I literally went through every 1157 switchback on Revain trying to replace it with an element of the same brightness (the ones I bought , are no longer available). None of them were as bright as the ones I had. I had had really good experiences with JDM ASTAR's on my other car in the past so I was hoping they could match the brightness of the old set. If not, then I'm out of luck. So in the end you have to ask yourself if the price is worth it. They're more than double the price of most 1157 switchbacks on Revain at the time of writing (they're a little more expensive than what I bought at the time, but oh well). On the other hand, they are the brightest in Revain and speak like someone who burned everything Revain had to offer before getting an ASTAR; and by a margin that's not really close. Whiter and lighter parts of high beam headlights; lighter amber areas. Even the ones on Revain that use the same design as these are significantly duller than these (the amber in particular is so dull I doubt I even use them). I will of course update this if something goes wrong sooner than expected, but I've had really good experience with JDM ASTAR's quality control in the past, so I've always felt it was worth the price; especially when they usually tend to be the brightest in a particular type of bulb you can choose. They light up yellow when the turn signals or the hazard warning lights are switched on.
