My first attempt to use the device was negative. I have a USB hard drive with 18 movies. The device featured 3 of these in its catalogue. Two of them received a message like "This file cannot be played". A movie is playing. The video and sound quality seemed good, but the picture wasn't in the center of the screen. About a third of the image was cut off at the bottom of the screen. The very bottom of the image appeared at the top of the screen. I couldn't find a way to center the image on the screen. I can find a way to change the format of the files and get them to play, but I probably won't try it right away. Update 06/30/2018 I unplugged the player using a memory card instead of a USB hard drive which I could not access. I was able to access videos from one of several folders on the memory card. The display is now in the center of the TV screen. The problems are gone.
