If custom shapes aren't working for you, you might want to give them a try.

So I've tried a lot of occlusion plates: The one you can bite into the microwave at home never worked (I've tried several different brands) so I bought it from my dentist for $266 ( she was no better than a microwave). My problem with all of this was that no matter how many times I tried to repeat it or how many times the dentist tried to fix my teeth, I could never rest comfortably in my sleep and when I tossed or lay on my side or the other On my back I felt my jaw slip. I also felt my overbite for about an hour every morning. Then I found this. They don't match your teeth, so you can move them around until you're comfortable. When I roll over at night I think I can automatically move them a little and find a place to bite and get comfortable without actually waking up. Also, your saliva can flow around your teeth and I never feel like my bite isn't working at all. I wash mine with some soap every morning. When I wake up they put them in a small tray and spray them with hydrogen peroxide. I have a feeling they stay clean. The only thing I don't like are the ridges on the sides - they irritated my gums so I cut them off. Works great without them. I've used them and I think they interfered with my buffing at night.
