Review on πŸ’‘ SilverStone SX700-LPT 700W SFX-L Power Supply - Silent 120mm Fan, Fully Modular Cables by Jennifer Duncan

Revainrating 4 out of 5

Silent, SFX, 92mm fan, 1x 6-pin PCI-E. Would have given it a 4.5 star rating after 2 weeks of use but is not SFX-L

I purchased this product based on the characteristics above. It also has a power of 300W and an efficiency of 80+ Bronze. Because PSUs are most efficient at 50 percent load (150W for a 300W PSU), low-power builds can get very close to this peak efficiency range. I would have preferred it to be an SFX-L to allow a >92mm fan to be placed in the product for even quieter operation, but for the price it's acceptable. The noise level is excellent. I used about up to 150 watts and didn't hear the fan at all. Non-modularity is not a problem as any included cable can be used. The cables are sleeved, which is nice, and the packaging looks professional. It is currently housed in a 4" thick Fractal Design Node 202 case. However, the SFX power supply still fits when space is available. It has been charging without problems for two weeks. This overview may be updated over time. I had a conflict between purchasing this V2 item and the ST30SF-V1, particularly because the V1 has a semi-passive fan that runs at 0 rpm at low temperatures, but I am happy with this product. It even has an SFX -ATX adapter if you wanted to put it in a larger case I would rate it 4.5 stars simply because it's not an SFX-L and will benefit from a bigger fan.
