1. Painting the blade area. I had to remove the paint and sharpen the blade2. I placed this tool on a flat surface and found that the end of the right end of the wooden handle was 1 inch above the surface while the end of the left wooden handle was properly touching the flat surface. In other words, the instrument to which the handles are attached is not curved straight. This appears to be a quality control issue on the part of the manufacturer. This defective block came to this consumer. I wonder how many other units ship from the factory.
