Needed a waterproof camera for snorkeling vacation this year. Have found that it has a ton of other features! This thing takes great night photos, great movies, and the macro mode just blew me away! I photographed flowers in macro mode and noticed ants crawling on the petals. I zoomed in to 5x (I'm at the optical limit) and started taking pictures. I used a monopod so camera shake wasn't an issue. Looking at the images on the 21 inch monitor, I could clearly see rings in the ants' eyes! This camera takes amazing pictures, is waterproof, shockproof (dropped a few times on camping trips) and has strong battery life. New Year's Update January 2014 So I've been using this camera for 6 months now. This little camera never ceases to amaze me. In addition to underwater, macro and auto modes, my kids now use the camera as a video camera to shoot a movie. It imported flawlessly into Windows Movie Maker and is currently in editing/post-production. All done by a group of teenagers. So this camera not only has a lot of functions, takes good pictures and is easy to use. If there were 6 stars I would give this camera.
