I bought a few sets of these as added emergency layers for very large windows during the winter. I wanted light filtering, not room darkening curtains, and not sheers since the purpose was to provide a lightweight, but effective insulating layer. I needed something long, wide, lightweight and easy to temporarily install on various horizontal blinds. When I couldn't find what I wanted in normal curtains, I decided to look at shower curtains. I was really excited to find these, especially at such a good price!These are cotton, so easily washable. The waffle weave provides a nice texture, some visual interest, and slightly more insulation than flat fabric curtains. I used flexible shower curtain hooks to attach them to the top of my horizontal blinds.These are filling the bill nicely. There's a significant difference between the temperature in the air between the curtain and the blinds, and room inside the curtain. I also like that these are long enough to lay on the carpeting, providing additional insulation for poorly insulated baseboards. The fact that they're wider than my windows allows me to quadruple the layers over the window seams, which tend to leak cold air.
