Broad Spectrum Mineral Sunscreen

Before ordering this mineral sunscreen, I was unaware that sunscreens are mineral, chemical or a combination of both and how they work. So I got curious and learned about sunscreen. After learning about Zinc Oxide I think it's a very good choice. This particular mineral sunscreen contains 20% Zinc Oxide, which is one of two approved mineral sunscreen ingredients in the United States. It blocks both short UVA rays (sunburn) and long UVA rays (wrinkles) as well as all UVB rays (sunburn/cancer), making it a better option than titanium dioxide, another approved mineral sunscreen. Since zinc oxide protects against both UVA and UVB rays, it is considered a "broad spectrum" sunscreen. One of the benefits of mineral sunscreen is that it works instantly, while chemical sunscreen takes time to absorb. Regardless of what type of sunscreen you use, sunscreen should be reapplied at least every 2 hours (or sooner after swimming or sweating). While I'm certainly not an expert and I'm not providing medical advice, I've learned that both mineral and chemical sunscreens are generally recognized as safe in the US and both work. The main difference is how they block UV rays. Mineral sunscreen like this is applied to the skin to physically block UV rays, while chemical sunscreen penetrates your skin and triggers a chemical reaction that also blocks UV rays. looks like less sunscreen than my other sunscreen bottles which contain about the same amount. It weighs 3 ounces and looks small, but that's typical for a sunscreen.
