For those who don't like to stretch (but definitely should), the stick offers a quick and effective way to condition your muscles after a workout or run. I chose the travel size for the price and ease of use for on the go. Surprisingly its length is enough to cover everything I need including my back. I'm pretty skinny so for a lot of people it won't cover the full width of their back. The stick can be used for most muscle groups and is really good for loosening tight muscles. As with stretching, this can cause some discomfort in tight or sore muscles, but this is a temporary sensation that will ultimately alleviate any future discomfort you may experience post-exercise. The next day I can definitely tell when I used the massager and when I didn't. While it doesn't completely eliminate aches or pains, it does reduce them by at least 75% (which is entirely justified). You need to make sure you are applying enough pressure to work the muscles, which depends on each person and their size. I recommend checking out all the different models to make sure you're getting the right one for your specific needs. I wonder if it would be useful if the plastic rings were less smooth. Usually you don't have to worry about them slipping off, so this is a small problem. Also, the product appears to be quite wear and flex resistant. Overall I am very happy with my purchase and would buy it again.
