For sun protection. Not mine.
These gloves are very light to wear in warm weather just to protect from the sun. If you're looking for some form of leather abrasion protection, look elsewhere. I'll leave them for light gardening like I did here in the 90's. I gave 3 stars because the tag says "do not wash". The label also recommends the use of "special leather cleaners". You look good.
