I've been using it for about a month and I can say it will last a couple of years at least. For a student on a tight budget, this is a huge relief. I used to carry two different shoulder bags to keep my work organized. I had a hard time putting everything in one bag due to location or organization issues. The bag itself is weightless which was one of the main reasons I bought this bag. On a typical day, my laptop/books/etc. about 25 pounds so I really needed a bag that wouldn't add even a pound of extra weight to my shoulders. The shoulder straps are very comfortable. Although I suspect they've gotten thinner over the years. But I can just buy new shoulder straps. The compartments are well thought out and spacious. All pockets are a good size to use. There is no wasted space. The padding in the laptop compartment is fairly subtle/medium. I don't carry a tablet, so I use a second bag for books. The outermost pocket has several small built-in compartments that are very useful for small items like USB or cell phone. And the exterior pocket, designed for water bottles, is perfect for an umbrella. All in all, this is one of the best bags I've ever owned. This is how a backpack should be. No thrills/frills. Simple style with maximum functionality.
