Exactly as advertised. In my original review, I promised that if the cat used the scratching posts more, I would give it a higher rating, and I did. Although initially indifferent to them, she now uses them quite regularly. As it turned out, I didn't do anything else; they were just beginning to interest her. Positioning and playing with a "feather stick" across the pad feels a lot more engaging than rubbing catnip. Although I've known quite a few passionate cat nippers in my time, most cats I've personally known ranged from "oh that's pretty good" to "ho-hmm".
