Stop thinking, reading, searching, just buy. Our LOs have chubby little feet and definitely fit the XW better than the W - the Velcro on them and the lack of elastic on the back of the tongue make these shoes PERFECT for chubby little feet. We bought them in three different colors and have been wearing them for her since she has been a size 3T (now 6T). We have tried many other shoes (latest balance as everything else is VERY tight) and these are the only ones I will continue to buy. Excellent quality and durability. At home, she prefers them to her slippers (rude, but it screams comfort) and they're easy for both parent and child to take off. love love love!
