This monitor is amazing, you will be satisfied with the clear picture and 170 degree viewing range. I can look at this monitor from anywhere in the room without losing my view from any direction. Before purchasing this monitor, I had a 17 inch CRT monitor. This monitor is better than my old 17" monitor. I also watch TV through my computer on the vx2000 monitor and it works fine. My monitor is currently connected via an analog connection, not a DVI connection. Deterioration in visual acuity I couldn't tell. The images are sharp, sharp and clear, just amazing. Looks great in bright light too. I mean the lack of image fading in bright light. I don't use speakers as my computer has a surround sound stereo plugged in. My guess is that the speakers are somewhere in the range of speakers that typically come with a new computer these days.Love this new monitor.If you are in the market and want a new monitor at a good price, is This is a good monitor, the screen doesn't tilt from landscape to portrait like the vp201m but everything else is just as cool. You cannot detach the monitor from the stand. The dot pitch on this monitor is a crisp 0.255. If you are looking for a new monitor, make sure the monitor you are considering buying has a 170 degree viewing angle, although this makes a huge difference in viewing pleasure. A contrast ratio of 600:1 versus 700:1 isn't enough for the average viewer to notice or differentiate, so don't worry too much about the contrast ratio. 600:1 excellent! It's just a great monitor, the software is easy to load and works flawlessly. I bought my monitor through Mwave.com. I live at FPO. I received my monitor via USPS in exactly 5 days.
