They worked great during the 2 week trip in Germany, France, Belgium and the Netherlands. No problem. We've easily used all 4 USB ports for a variety of devices and used a US outlet for our Mac charger and phone. They looked well built and suited a variety of outlets well. The depth makes them a bit bulky - it would be nice if you could fold the pens - but they are lightweight. I thought they were a bit more expensive, but (1) together they can charge 6 devices at once and (2) it's two sets. So if one fails or is lost we can still get by with the other, so I felt safer relying on them than a larger all-in-one. This is of course *not* a voltage converter, so only use dual voltage or 220V chargers/devices in the wall socket part (most phone/laptop chargers seem to be dual). However, any USB cable will work with these connectors - the voltage is controlled.
