I don't know what the negative reviews are talking about. It is very easy to assemble. Yes, the "clips" are strong and you'll have to do a little work to remove them, but that's the point, isn't it? Aren't they supposed to hold the quilt (or whatever you're sewing) in place? If they weren't tight, the frame wouldn't work. It's lightweight and has a good work surface. I like the shape (square) MUCH better than a round hoop (it makes sense to use a square frame to hold the square quilt blocks, right?). I am very happy with it and very glad I bought it. I'll probably buy a variety of sizes so I always have the perfect frame on hand.
