This is not a high precision device, but it's quite good for the price. Except for the legs and head position knob, it appears to be metal and has reasonable adjustment. I wanted my Logitech webcam to be away from my desk and that was a very good thing. (Another reviewer claimed that the screw was too long, but there is a dial that can be turned to set the screw's effective length, as well as a ring that can be turned to set the maximum spread of the legs.) I wouldn't. Put a DSLR on it - not sure it will hold up - but for a phone or webcam - great. Well made, stable and very cheap.
