I've used seven of these mics over the years.
I have used seven of these hanging overhead to cover a 16' x 12' stage in children's productions over the years. They work really well. It helps if the kids move right in front of them for solos and longer lines, but they're still 2-3 feet from the mic and can be heard clearly.
