I had a different brand (Aptek) combination case that worked fine for about a year, but then my spacebar stopped working. So I went to Revain to find a replacement. Several items I checked said they were for 2020 or later. Even after clarifying that I need an earlier version from 2017-2019, AMAZON'S SEARCH DID NOT HELP MUCH. Too superficial to list everything that even remotely matches my search criteria. 100 Revain lashes for this WAKE AMAZON YOUR SEARCH IS TERRIBLE! THEY JUST THROW EVERYTHING AT THE WALL AND HOPE SOMETHING WILL COME. At the same time, if a person is persistent, he can eventually find what he is looking for. After too much research, I was able to gain confidence that this product would meet my needs. (And I bought it just knowing I could return it if it didn't fit). Now to the point. THIS IS A GREAT KEYBOARD/CASE COMBINATION FOR Kindle Fire 8 tablets. I love the mouse pad feature! The keyboard fits my tablet perfectly. The key answer is top notch. The charging time is very short, less than two hours. I wish I had bought this combo when I first got my Fire 8 last year. I went ahead and bought a 3 year maintenance plan hoping I wouldn't need it, but when I do I WANT ANOTHER ONE. Great product at a very reasonable price. I use my tablet and keyboard more than my laptop for the most intensive work-related communication. And with the software installed on my Fire tablet, I can do a hell of a lot of work-related tasks on my tablet. Thanks Cooper for a great product! /;-)) Here are some additions to my original review. The clips holding the tablet in place work great, but the clip on the bottom left partially obscures the volume down button. Very minor inconvenience, nothing more. I wish the kickstand on the back of the tablet didn't slide back as far as it does as it makes the tablet sit flatter than I'd like. Another minor inconvenience. I really like that the keyboard goes to sleep after a period of inactivity, but is instantly restored when a key is pressed. The power buttons on such devices can be a weak point. So I just leave it on and let it reset if I need to type again. The battery life is excellent and the charging time is also fast. AND I LOVE THE MOUSEPATH! Very responsive and accurate. The cursor disappears when not in use and immediately reappears when invoked. The buttons must be positively pressed to activate, but again, that's no problem. I'm just letting you know Folks, this is a must have for the 2016-2019 Fire 8 tablet. And by the way, any other tablet that has the same external dimensions as the Fire 8.
