Bright and beautiful, BUT.

The reason I bought this particular monitor is that I bought its slightly older brother the LG 29UM-68-P and was very happy with it. It's basically the 29-inch version of this monitor from 2016. Both are incredibly bright and crystal clear, and I've never had a complaint about the 29-inch model. This one was even cheaper (even at the time of writing $368 vs. $299), so I figured why not? Overall I'm happy with it, although the color accuracy leaves a lot to be desired. Now I not only see that the 29" model has a slight red cast, but also a slight green cast on the 34" model. " (hard to see in the photo but it's there). I've played around with the settings but I couldn't get any of them to match or get the odd thing close to pure white. Colorimeter because honestly, it annoys me a bit. Also, either because of the size or because of people complaining, the VESA mount doesn't partially block video connections (look at you, 29) - everything is easily accessible. If this is supposed to be your *only monitor *then I can't recommend it enough, if adding it to an existing monitor you might want to look elsewhere or be prepared to spend time fiddling with the controls to get everything looking right said I like it and if the News that NVIDIA will add Freesync compatibility in an upcoming driver release is true, I'll be even happier playing with it!The Freesync compatible NVIDIA driver was released today, and although it does not belong to the approved monitors, it seems to work without trying Lem. I also bought a colorimeter but haven't had much luck with it yet. I also wanted to add that the joystick control is probably the simplest of all monitor controls. Push away to stand, toward you to enter/select. I don't have to remember how to use it - everything is intuitive.
