It was so bad that I actually returned it after only a few days of use and then bought a TCL Roku 4k TV ( about $20 cheaper) to replace it, which was an easy decision when comparing this pile of junk to the TCL I already had (in my living room, this one was for my office/man cave). Here are all the reasons why this purchase was a failure for me: - the sound isn't silent, it's completely broken and unusable for my XBox One without a soundbar - literally everything sounded like digitized noise and was ready to explode. I like hooking up speakers anyway, but it was unusable - the software is awful, crashed twice during my initial setup which was a red flag, and it usually takes a long time to switch inputs, pull up menus, or do anything on the menu. The user interface is also very unintuitive. When the device turns on, it switches to that input, which is cool, but sometimes it happens when I don't want it to โ for example, my cat touches the XBox One's tail while I'm playing Switch, and suddenly Mario falls into the Grube, I have to find the remote control to switch back. There's probably a way to change this, but good luck finding it with those confusing menu options (they're not even available on the home screen, btw) - you can't download apps like you can on a Roku- or Fire-based Smart TV, you're limited to what the Vizio app offers, so no HBO Max for you! Also, it's obvious that app developers will pay less attention to it, so the apps won't be as good. Can't connect or stay connected via Apple Airplay or Chromecast. I haven't had any issues with the same devices on the same network with my TCL after swapping it out. I've updated the software, done hard resets and nothing has made it work consistently. The weirdest thing was that I was trying to stream an MLB.TV preseason game which I had actually successfully downloaded from my iPhone to the TV - it worked fine but once I started streaming it to the TV it became slower and buffered for MINUTES. I would say maybe it was the MLB app but then again no problem with this particular case on my TCL Roku 4K TV. I admit I *LOVE* my old Vizio 1080p TV so I was really curious to see what they have been doing over the past few years to stay ahead of the curve, but I'm really disappointed here and now TCL is mine Choice in this price range (although I'd be willing to try some of the Insignia or Hisense Fire TVs) and I'm not sure I'll ever buy a Vizio TV again.
