This is actually a very beautifully made gear, the workmanship is high quality, no sharp edges, all edges are beveled. Both pan and tilt tension can be adjusted with the included hex wrench and stay at the adjusted tension, allowing you to easily move the monitor in any direction and stay in place. It attaches with a standard hot or cold shoe mount with a large knurled nut which works fine but has a bit of play in the shoe itself and I would have liked a slightly snugger fit but they most likely made it that way, even on shoes to approach that can not be ideal in terms of characteristics. So far everything has been done with the Shinobi monitor on the XC15 camera through its very durable cold shoe and it works great. A small silicone O-ring is built into the knurled nut to hold the nut securely. And also a standard 1/4 20 thread in case you want to attach directly. NOTE: It seems that many of the reviews here are not for the same UURIG device that I purchased and this is below as they are all mixed up so I have included some photos with a 5 inch monitor. Overall I think if you are looking for a compact, well made and nicely designed monitor mount you will not be disappointed.
