I really like this hub. This is perfect for my needs. I first tried a hub powered by CalDigits for $250: https://amzn.to/3enLuzV. It started giving me error messages about the USB device drawing too much power on my Mac. Then I tried cheaper versions. It turns out they only charge via USB-C. This option is in a winning position, priced much closer to the cheap non-USB-C data transfer options. The XSPUS hub has more than enough ports (much more than I actually need). As more and more devices become dependent on USB-C, this hub is only going to get stronger. It plugs into one of your USB-C ports, giving you two USB-C ports for data transfer and one port for charging. Add five USB-A ports with almost every other port currently in use, and you have a great hub in a well-designed form factor at a reasonable price. I use mine with the new M1 MacBook Air in clamshell mode. It sits conveniently on the front of your Mac for easy access to ports. I am 100% satisfied with this purchase and very glad I bought it.
