This HOMEST medical work bag with laptop compartment is a simple but well made bag that can be used for a variety of purposes. This bag is made of durable synthetic material. , water-resistant, wipe-clean canvas. The bag is fully lined with smooth gray woven fabric. There are two handles made of wide nylon webbing and an additional detachable, padded shoulder strap. All external seams are stitched for strength and durability. The back of the bag has a luggage strap that allows you to slide it over the handle of a rolling suitcase to allow the bag to move from the top. All inner seams are sewn with twill tape. There is a large zip pocket on the front of the bag. Inside is a clear vinyl zip pocket on one side and three open clear vinyl pockets on the other side that have an elasticated top hem to hold contents. The main compartment is accessible via a double zipper. This is a fairly roomy compartment with enough room for a large number of supplies or clothes for a weekend getaway. There are three open pockets on both sides with an elastic band along the top edge. In addition, there is a flat zipped pocket on one side. The bag has modest padding, but not enough to be used as a regular laptop bag in my opinion. This is a very simple bag but well made. I wish it had more padding because I would like to use it as a laptop bag. My 17.3" laptop fits in easily and still has plenty of room. I also wish it had a hard insert at the bottom of the bag to help it hold its shape, but for the price it's a very functional, well-made bag.
