Review on ๐Ÿ‘“ Enhance Your Vision with Seek Optics Replacement Advanced Polarized Lenses by Brian Olson

Good lenses but too much color shift from center to edges.

I bought several replacement lenses to compare with my new Oakley FLAK 2.0 sunglasses. I have a love/hate relationship with Oakley lenses: I love the transparency but hate how easily they seem to scratch, the discoloration of some lenses, how bright they are (I like dark lenses) and I HATE the cost for the replacement. My interchangeable lens company is a bit salty so I thought I'd go shopping and test the waters. The lenses came in a small square box with a divided microfiber case. I prefer this to a full glasses case as I have a lot of these and if you change lenses frequently it would be nice to have safe storage. Search lenses have good reflection and a slight bluish-purple shift in the mirror. Not as pronounced as the stock Oakley, but there. The lenses fit well and look as thick as standard lenses. The tint is roughly the same as standard lenses with a much stronger color shift at the edges. I'm not sure if it's due to the lack of taper, but I found it very frustrating to sit in my white JKU and watch the exposed paint change color as I look around while driving. I noticed the same thing walking down a street where buildings changed color as I walked past them. It might not be as noticeable outdoors or when walking through the woods, but it's definitely noticeable when looking up at the cloudy sky. The photographs represent a first selection. The color of the lenses can be seen by comparing the original Oakley lenses in figures 2 and 3 with all the lenses on the light table. The last two shots were taken through the lens with a Samsung 360 camera shooting 180 degrees. The first of the two is the original Oakley, the second Seek. This shows some of the color shift from the center of the lens to the edges. This can also be seen in light table images with the hotspot in the center of the lens. The same is noticeable with standard lenses, but the hotspot is much larger, making it less distracting.
