Bought to replace a Sony Dream Machine clock radio, model ICF-C112, which was 10 years old. old because the buttons to set the time didn't always work. a certain disadvantage. But I liked the clock because it could wake the dead if you used the alarm mode buzzer and it would ring forever. So I bought a new clock radio and stuck with Sony because I've always had good luck with that brand and didn't want Bluetooth, USB, iPod dock or anything like that. Just wanted an alarm clock, didn't have to stop listening to the FM radio. When the new one arrived I left my old alarm plugged in in case the new one didn't work. What have I learned? Things that were similar on both models: * The numbers displayed over time were the same in magnitude and intensity. * Two alarm options: AM/FM radio and buzzer. * Ability to select low or high alarm volume. * Radio tuning and volume control. * Radio with AM/FM switch. * Battery backup (only clock works, clock and radio don't). * You can change the alarm time, but both models do it differently. On the old model, you press the alarm button and the H (hours) and M (minutes) time adjustment buttons to change the alarm - they only move forward. On the new model, you use the alarm clock faces to move forward or backward in time, which is easier because you're only holding one dial, but takes longer because you have to cycle through every 24 hours to change the alarm time. it was different: * The buzzer beeps like a microwave and has a very low volume even when the alarm volume switch was set to high. The alarm clock failed to wake the flea. It was so quiet that when I heard it this morning I understood why I had been waking up so late all week. Definitely #2 downside in terms of performance.* You have to reset the alarm every day after turning it off for that day. The rotary switch to set the alarm is easy to turn off without realizing it. On older watches, there were specific "steps" in the alarm switch so it couldn't be turned off without applying more force to the switch. Clock like snooze bar on C112. Your hand should reach the top of the watch and touch it to turn it off. The C112's snooze bar was flat, and pressing anywhere turned it off.* Time out of the box sped up by 4 minutes.* Sound from the radio speakers is a bit softer compared to the previous dream machine. Unfortunately, the new model was a clear disappointment in timing. In one day he gained two minutes on the clock. I don't keep it to see how long it takes to fast for an hour.
